Vortel offers an array of phone numbers to go with your Vortel flatrate or Prepaid Basic account. Our range consists of Vortel numbers and local numbers that enable callers from the traditional phone network (i.e. fixed and mobile lines) to call you.

Aside from German numbers, which can be ordered during signup, the assignment and payment of such numbers is done separately from our online signup. If you'd like to order one or more international numbers for your Vortel account, you need to do a regular signup and then send an email to numbers@vortel.net.

Like your Vortel phone service and dashboard, your numbers are “portable”, so that if you plug your Vortel adapter in a place away from your home or office, your Vortel adapter and phone will still ring to let you know someone is calling.

Vortel Phone Numbers

Every Vortel customer gets a Vortel phone number. It lets one Vortel customer call another Vortel customer for free. Your Vortel number is assigned to your account once you have completed the sign-up process.

PSTN Phone Numbers

PSTN phone numbers are traditional phone numbers that can be called from fixed and mobile networks. You do not need such a number to use our service, but you should get one if you want people to be able to call your Vortel line from a fixed or mobile phone.
We give you a PSTN number for free (a German local number) if you sign-up for one of our flatrates. If you just take a Prepaid Basic plan we charge a one-time fee of 4,95* Euro for a number.

German Local Numbers

Vortel offers a wide range of local German numbers, and you can select one when you sign-up. German regulations limit the local numbers you can select for your account.
If you live in Munich, for example, and have no registered address in Berlin, we cannot provide you with a Berlin number.

Based on the address(es) you provide during sign-up, we will generate a local number for you. If no numbers are offered, then there is no suitable number in stock. In that case we will make a note of your request and let you know as soon as a suitable number becomes available. But you can always make use of our Vortel number, which we provide free of charge.
